Wednesday, September 10, 7:00pm, MUB Strafford Room: Sex Signals Improv Show. Sex Signals is a two-person show that blends improvisational comedy, education and audience participation to provide a provocative look at the issues of dating, sex and, ultimately, acquaintance rape on college campuses. The performers, who are trained in sexual assault prevention, work to strike a balance between laughing at the differences between men and women, and clearly communicating some serious messages about how people treat one another.

Wednesday, October 1, 5:00pm, MUB Theater II. Movie and Discussion "Born Into Brothels"
. A tribute to the resiliency of childhood and the restorative power of art, Born into Brothels is a portrait of several unforgettable children who live in the red light district of calcutta, where their mothers work as prostitutes. Zana Briski, a New York based photographer, gives each of the children a camera and teaches them to look at the world with new eyes. Winner of Academy Award of Best Documentary Feature, 2007. Facilitated by Discovery Author Stacy VanDeveer. Cosponsored by Women's Studies Department.


Monday, October 20, 7:00pm, MUB Strafford Room: The Mind/Body Dialogues.
Performed closely using the format of Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues", this monologue-based play is written by Jennifer Campbell and Jessica Cunningham of the Multiservice Eating Disorder Association, Inc., and will be performed by UNH students. The play is meant to uncover the ways in which we all think about, feel towards, and care for our physical selves. The play also examines the relationships that people from a wide cross-section of backgrounds have with their bodies. Sponsored by the Office of Education and Promotion, Health Services

Being Fierce and fabulous is an empowering, creative, supportive and inspiring day-long retreat for college women. As part of the retreat, you will have a chance to connect with other women, reflect on who you are as a unique individual, give volume to your voice to assert your needs and desires, gain confidence in who you are on the inside and outside and develop techniques and skills to nuture yourself. Tuesday, November 4, 7:00pm, MUB Theater I, Film: "Dying to Be Thin".
This documentary examines a disturbing increase in the prevalence of debilitating and sometimes life-threatening eating disorders, particularly anorexia and bulimia. Narrated by Susan Sarandon. Film will be followed with a discussion led by Suzanne Sonneborn, Nutrition Educator, Health Services. Sponsored by the Office of Health Education and Promotion, Health Services

Tuesday, November 18, 7:00pm, MUB Theater I, Film: "Having Your Cake: Goodbye to Bulimia". Four women openly share the details of their personal journeys of self-discovery as they battled bulimia. Through intimate interviews, each describes how she first became aware of her self-destructive behavior and how she disarmed it, freeing herself to move towards physical and emotional health. Film will be followed with a discussion led by Suzanne Sonneborn, Nutrition Educator, Health Services. Sponsored by the Office of Health Education and Promotion, Health Services

Tuesday, November 25, 7:00pm, MUB Theater I, Film: "Dieting: At War With Our Bodies". This revealing documentary gives voice to those who resist the notion that the human body, in all its variations, must concede to cultural or clinical ideals of thinness.
