PCard Background
USNH has a Purchasing Card (PCard) program which began in 1996. The USNH PCard is actually a Master Card Commercial Card which we use for high volume, low dollar purchases. The purpose of the PCard was to establish a more efficient, cost-effective method of making high volume, low dollar purchases. The PCard has reduced the time between identifying a need and delivery of the goods. Cardholders have direct contact with the supplier in placing orders.
PCard Statistics
The expected volume was approximately $8 million in purchases (2% of FY 95 dollars expended) and 60,000 invoices (44% of FY 95 invoices processed). The program has expanded to $41 million dollars at the end of FY 01. The following table outlines the growth of the PCard program since its inception:

To use the PCard at the New England Center (NEC) for dining, hotel, and conferences, an exception approval must be obtained in advance from the PCard Business Manager and the Campus Card Administrator.
