$15,750.00 • Dimond Library - Given to support the purchase of the New York Times Digital Archives which will be available for all library users 24 hours per day / 7 days a week. This replaces the well used microfilm version of the archives. Given full funding, the remaining 2/3 of the cost of this is being funded by the Library and by a Library Campaign Gift.
$25,534.00 • Campus Recreation - To purchase 2 new eight passenger vans to support the 21 active sport clubs and their 800 members at UNH. These vans will replace old 15 passenger vans, which can no longer legally carry 15 passengers. The new vans will result in more mobility for the clubs and will reduce costs. Given full funding.
$12,000.00 • Student Organization Services - This award is given to support the creation of a new Memorial Union lecture / current issue speaker series. This is aimed at bringing a much needed educational "outside-the-classroom" experience to students and the university community. Given full funding, matching the support from the Student Organization Services office of the MUB.
$2,375.00 • Music Dept. - To support the combined Choral Concert for 2004, which includes UNH music students as well as regional high school music students. This development event serves as a opportunity to showcase UNH, attracting quality students to the university. It is also an outreach opportunity to the region with UNH providing music clinics at the regional high schools. Given full funding. In kind support is provided by the UNH Music Dept.
$3,889.00 • Departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology - To purchase a digital gel documentation system to replace an antiquated system. The new system will allow better lab documentation, digital file access, data analysis, and introduce a large number of students to the standard procedures they will encounter in today's research labs and industry. Given full funding.
$2,670.00 • UNH Research Computing Center - InterOperability Laboratory - To purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This purchase addresses safety issues of a department which handles a variety of electrical equipment and which was recently moved off campus, away from quick access to an AED. Given full funding. Supporting funds were supplied by the department.
$3,400.00 • UNH Crew Club - To purchase a new outboard motor for the crew club's safety / chase launch during training practices and races. Partially funded grant request. Matching funds provided by the Crew Club.
$2,000.00 • UNH Women's Crew Team - To purchase a larger boat trailer to allow for more members of the team to participate in races. Partially funded, matches funding from the Athletic Dept.
$2,700.00 • Department of Physics and Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, & Space - To support the purchase of 2 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED). Partially funded, matching funds from each department.
$3,183.00 • Campus Recreation - To support the purchase of kayaks for the UNH rental program run by the Campus Recreation Dept. These kayaks will compliment the tents, backpacks and sleeping bags already available for rent at reasonable rates to students, faculty and staff. Given full funding.
$3,880.00 • UNH Sailing Team - To purchase a new outboard motor for the team's safety launch. The new motor will be more reliable, be more environmentally friendly and will reduce safety concerns for the Sailing Team. Partially funded, allows only for the purchase of the outboard motor.
$3,870.00 • UNH Thompson School - To purchase 2 laptop computers and support the installation of 2 Ethernet connections in the study area for student use at the Thompson School. This will allow Thompson School students to conduct research on the web, complete class work assignments and access the Blackboard program while at the Thompson School location. Given full funding. Additional support is supplied by the Thompson School
$2,500.00 • UNH Cycling Club - To purchase a Computrainer which will allow the team members to train indoors during the winter months. The Computrainer is a fully adjustable stationary bike which can be hooked up to a computer to measures power out put. Partially funded grant, allows only for the purchase of the Computrainer.
$1,500.00 • Student Organization Services - To support the purchase of one electronic keyboard and stand for student organization use in the Memorial Union Building. Partially funded grant request.
$7,194.00 • Dimond Library - To purchase 6 additional laptop computers for the laptop loaner program. The Library Laptop Loaner Program is available to all UNH students, the computers, which can be connected to the Internet in over 200 locations in the library, the laptops maybe borrowed for 4 hours at a time. Given full funding.
$2,787.00 • Undergraduate Research Conference - To purchase 50 easels and foam board for use during the upcoming Undergraduate Research Conference and other campus uses. This purchase of easels will eliminate the need to rent easels for the Conference on an ongoing basis. Given full funding.
$3,000.00 • UNH Wrestling Club - To purchase a second wrestling mat to support the development of the Wrestling Club in general and to support the development of the Wildcat Wrestling Camp sponsored by the Club as a fundraising source. Partially funded grant request.
$1,760.00 • A cappella Society of UNH - To support the renovations to their new practice space and funding for retuning their piano on a regular basis. The A cappella Society of UNH represents 4 A cappella groups on campus who regularly perform for the university community. Given full funding.
$2,000.00 • Cooperative Real Education: Agricultural Management (CREAM) - To purchase a computer for CREAM in an effort to streamline the business management and record keeping responsibilities of the students who run this program. Part of this award supports the continuation of the "Open House" that CREAM sponsors for the university and surrounding communities. Partially funded grant request.
$1,774.00 • Fireside Adventure Program - To purchase UNH Fireside imprinted water bottles to give to Fireside volunteer trip leaders and trip participants. The Fireside program is an experiential-based program designed to develop decision-making skills, self-confidence and responsibility of participating students. Fully funded.
$3,000.00 • UNH LeaderShape Program - To support the post LeaderShape programs on campus in the fall. These programs are aimed at reenergize LeaderShapers and promoting networking with other student leaders. Given full funding.
$1,900.00 • UNH Dance Team - To support their participation in the National Dance Alliance Cheer & Dance Collegiate Championships. The UNH Dance Team will be joined by colleges and universities from across the country. Partial funding, representing approximately 20% of their costs.
