Preparing For Your Transfer Meeting
Follow these simple steps to prepare for your meeting:
1. Review the requirements in the University catalog for the program to which you have been admitted:
College of Liberal Arts
College of Life Science and Agriculture
College of Engineering and Physical Sciences
School of Health and Human Services
Thompson School of Applied Science
Whittemore School of Business and Economics2. If you are transferring credits to UNH, review your UNH Admissions credit evaluation form. It will indicate which, if any, courses, you have completed that meet University General Education and Writing requirements as well as the total credits from you previous college that you may apply to your UNH degree. Whittemore School students note: Make sure that you have the syllabi for any previously taken business-related courses.
3. Review the General Education requirements. Identify categories where you will need to take courses. Check Fall 2007"gen ed" courses to see what is available.
4. Review the University Writing Requirement. Check Writing Intensive University Writing Courses ("WI") Fall 2007 courses that interest you.
5. In mid-May, check the list of fall courses open to transfer students.
6. Select courses and several alternatives. UNH baccalaureate students typically take four courses (16 credits); Thompson School students four or more courses (16 credits). Not all courses may be open to you, but you will have an opportunity to those courses in following semesters.
7. Meet with your advisor (initial advising contact) to determine previous courses, if any, that meet UNH major requirements and to sign-up for fall courses.
