Music Department Offers Bus Trips to Boston Performances
 
The Music Department is offering two special bus trips to Boston this fall to performances by the Boston Ballet and Lyric Opera.

Fifty tickets are available for excellent seats, and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. The College of Liberal Arts is making these tickets available at a 10 percent discount and will provide the bus transportation free of charge.

The performances this fall are:

Boston Ballet presents Cinderella
Saturday, Oct. 22, 2 p.m., Wang Center
Bus departs S lot at 11 a.m.; parking is free to all
Price: $70 per person (includes bus)

Boston Lyric Opera (with Glimmerglass Opera) presents Lucie de Lammermoor
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 7:30 p.m.. Schubert Theatre
Bus departs C lot at 4 p.m.; parking is free to all
Price: $80 per person (includes bus)
David M. Cushing ('00), bass, will be singing the role of Raymond in Lucie de Lammermoor.

The trips are related to the Arts and Society class taught by Mel Bobick, professor of sociology, for many years. The class exposed students to high-quality performances and museums. Arts and Society will continue through the direction of faculty members in the Fine and Performing Arts Division (Art and Art History, Theatre and Dance, and Music). In spring 2006, the course will be taught by David Andrew, professor art and art history.
