David Gillum, laboratory safety officer with the UNH Office
of Environmental Health and Safety, has been invited to participate
in a workshop on the roles and responsibilities of Institutional
Biosafety Committees (IBCs) sponsored by the NIH Office of Biotechnology
Activities. Gillum, who developed UNH's Biological Safety Program,
is one of only two university-based professionals invited to speak
at the conference, which will be held in San Diego in March. For

David A. Berona, assistant professor and head of Library Systems,
was invited to present a paper on Feb. 4, 2005, at Yale University,
which will host an international symposium and exhibition exploring
the intersection of book arts and graphic art in Belgium. Berona
is an international authority on woodcut novels and his articles
and papers are highly regarded by scholars in the fields of visual
