UNH Aerial Dance Showcase is May 4

The UNH Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to announce the Aerial Dance Showcase to be performed on May 4, at 7 p.m. in the Newman Dance Studio at New Hampshire Hall.

Come see these amazing student performances in aerial arts, trapeze, lyra, and fabric. This entertaining and inspiring showcase will be performed, directed, designed and choreographed by Theatre and Dance majors. The UNH Aerial Dance class teaches the same artistry as seen in Cirque Du Soleil.

Gay Nardone is the chair for the Department of Theatre and Dance and she teaches Theatre Dance (Tap & Jazz Dance). She received her M.F.A. and B.F.A. from the Boston Conservatory. Nardone began her career with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and danced with the June Taylor Dancers of the Jackie Gleason television show. She has choreographed operas and musicals for the university, including "Into the Woods" and "Amahl and The Night Visitors," as well as "No No Nanette" for Prescott Park. Nardone performs in "Clara's Dream," the jazz Nutcracker at the Music Hall in Portsmouth and tours. Nardone is performing with Dean Diggins and Drika Overton as the “Classical Tap Trio.”

Admission is free and seating is first-come first-served. For more information, call the Theatre and Dance office at 2-0093.
