The New Hampshire Library of Traditional Jazz(NHLTJ)

The UNH Music Department began, in 1979, a series of concerts devoted to traditional jazz and sponsored by Mrs. Dorothy Prescott. In 1981, Mrs. Prescott established the New Hampshire Library of Traditional Jazz(NHLTJ) as a legal non-profit entity. In 1988, it and a substantial portion of her estate, became property of UNH. Now under the supervision of Prof. William Ross and permanently housed in the Special Collections area of the University's newly expanded Dimond Library, the extensive collection of recordings, books, periodicals, and memorabilia will provide a valuable resource for both jazz historians and the UNH community (click The Dimond Library Site to visit the NHLTJ page of  the Dimond Library). The NHLTJ continues to sponsor the Traditional Jazz Series, now in its twentieth year.

Prof. Paul Verrette is the departmental liaison with NHLTJ.

Prof.David Seiler is the coordinator of the Traditional Jazz Series. He may be reached by email at seiler4@comcast.net
