Parking Options
Note that parking spots at the university require permits and tend to fill up, especially in the peak hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The UIC has one marked parking space in the Parsons Hall lot. That space may be used without a permit, if advanced arrangements have been made with the UIC office.
Also, there are two types of permits available, to allow you to hunt for a space. In addition, special parking arrangements may be made for workshops and are described in the workshop registration form.
UIC has one special permit which may be reserved in advance. When you are on Route 155 A South which becomes Main Street, you may turn right onto College Road, at a stop light just after a railroad overpass. College Road veers left at Morse Hall and becomes McDaniel Drive. Continue past the next building, Kingsbury Hall, on your left and then turn left into parking lot P at Parsons Hall, which is the next large building on your left. Park momentarily there and pick up the service vendor parking permit at the UIC office in 220 Parsons Hall. Then put the parking permit in your windshield and park in any service vendor spot or any faculty/staff parking lot. Please return the permit to the UIC office when you leave.
Another alternative is that, when you are on Route 155A South which becomes Main Street, you may turn left onto Loop Road opposite the tennis courts. At the stop sign, turn right onto Mast Road. Opposite a greenhouse on your right, turn left into a parking lot and go to the white Visitor Information Center to get a visitor parking permit. You may then put the permit in your windshield, park in a visitor spot in that lot, and take a free shuttle bus to Parsons Hall where the UIC office is in room 220.
