400 CHECKLIST
You
must be able to do these things before you will be allowed to run on your own.
1. Be able to check to see
if someone is running, how to stop, save and remove their sample…how not to
put a tube in if one is already in the magnet.
2. Clean, check for camber,
inspect bottom and top, insert and eject tube….know where the emergency eject
is, know not to leave your sample in depth gauge.
3. Open software, join
experiments, switch experiments, create new experiments, find experiments.
4.
Lock with proper gain, power, phase, and field (Z0), know when to read in
standard shim file….what to do when you can’t lock.
5.
How to read in and save shim files, how to shim manually on Z1C and Z2C,
how to gradient shim, how to tell when it is bad, no gradient shimming on 2
shifts or more of deuterium, how to tell when you need to shim the non-spins and
doing so.
6.
How to run a spectrum in GLIDE, how to change a parameter before running,
like # of scans (nt).
7.
How to run more than one spectrum in GLIDE consecutively.
8.
Be able to run a 1D proton, a 1D carbon (understand the S/N check), a
simple DEPT, a simple COSY.
9.
Know where to look things up in the manuals.
10.
Be able to work up a spectrum manually, including phase correction,
integrating and setting standard integral, vp, baseline correction, referencing,
printing with variations.
11.
Be able to read spectra in and out of experiments, work on one while
running another.
12.
Be able to move or copy files to Lylestation, backup on CD, use
reservation software.
13.
Know how to get us for trouble!!!!
14. Where to go on our
website for information on moving files, backing up files to CD, etc. Link: http://www.unh.edu/instrumentation-center/help-users.htm
