Requesting Release from the Housing Contract
You are bound by the terms of your Room and Board Agreement for the full academic year. If you wish to cancel your housing arrangements for the 2008-2009 academic year prior to the first Friday of fall semester classes, you must do so in writing to the Department of Housing, 10 Academic Way, Durham, NH 03824. - On or before June 1 will result in a 50% refund of the paid housing deposit
- Between June 2 and July 1 will result in a 25% refund of the paid housing deposit
- Between July 2 and August 15, will result in forfeiture of the entire housing deposit
- Between August l6 and September 5 (Friday of the first week of classes), will result in the student being responsible for 25% of fall semester housing fee.
If you are requesting release for the Fall 2008 semester between September 6 and October 3, please submit a Semester I Petition for Release from Housing.
Any release requests submitted on or after October 4 must be made by completing a Semester II Petition for Release from Housing. Each petition will be reviewed and considered carefully. Decisions will be made prior to Thanksgiving break for all students who submit a petition by the deadline of November 14. Please note that students who are not granted release from the Room and Board Agreement will be responsible for the full spring semester housing fee.
