We are grateful to all involved in the advancement of inclusion and equity. Dedicated individuals and groups across campus have worked on initiatives critical to improving the academic and social experiences of living, studying, and working at UNH. This video is a tribute to that work and to our full potential as a learning community.
Many Faces, One Mission: Inclusion Diversity Celebration Banquet 2008
On Saturday, May 3, UNH held one of its hallmark events, a banquet, in appreciation of the work that brings continued change to its multicultural community and the entire campus. The accompanying program Many Faces, One Mission: Inclusion demonstrated the progress of Diversity Initiatives and UNH's commitment to excellence as individuals and groups were recognized for their work.
The event was sponsored by the Office of the Provost/Diversity Initiatives. The photos capture the spirit of appreciation that filled the Huddleston Ballroom while honoring the scholarly as well as administrative contributions and programs that transform university campuses as well as surrounding communities. 2007 Diversity Celebration Banquet
UNH Honors Rosa ParksThe Office of Diversity Initiatives hosted a celebration honoring the 50th year of the Civil Rights Movement with a tribute t o the life of Rosa Parks. Small group discussions brought out key points about the history and the challenges to freedom today. Wanda Mitchell, Vice Provost for Diversity, addressed the group saying, “Rosa Parks was a woman of action and conviction. She knew her rights were being denied, and she did all she could to deny the injustice. We have to be champions for change. Never give in to status quo Take action, like the civil rights leaders did.
