Odilon Redon was a French artist who lived from 1840-1916. This shows one of his better known works, "The Smiling Spider." The icon used here is cropped and lightened from the full print. The original was done in 1881 in charcoal, 49.5 x 35 cm, and is owned by the Musee du Louvre.
