E-mail Lists as a Teaching Tool|
30-SEP-1997
This course was scheduled to be taught for the first time on 22-SEP-1997 but was canceled due to low enrollment. Our plan now is to offer it in summer 1998, with registration probably open in May 1998. The working description is: This course, primarily for faculty and instructors, reviews the strategies and choices in setting up an e-mail list for use in support of academic courses. And we look at use of mailboxes (aliases) for students to submit work. We then compare and contrast e-mail lists with newsgroups as an alternative technology. Integrating mailing lists with a course Web page is also covered. Prerequisite: none, but basic use of e-mail and Web browsing is helpful. Lecture/demo format. |
